It's our 10th Anniversary this year as a community library! A series of celebratory events have been hosted by the library throughout the year incl. our annual scarecrow trail, a special 10th birthday raffle which has raised £1,200 ( a list of prizes and raffle winners is available to view at the library) and a fabulous tea party for volunteers, past and present. Please see our gallery for pictures of these events.
**Great News** We are thrilled to annouce that the 2025 Rothley village scarecrow trail raised £2,000! Leicester Round Table has also very generously donated a further £500 from proceeds raised from a bbq they ran during the weekend! Many thanks to all of our volunteers and to those villagers that made scarecrows, without you we wouldn't have had an event! The winner was the flamboyant display of 'Mr Men' on Hallfields Lane, and the close runner up was the 'Three Pigs and the Wolf' on Badgers Bank which was executed in beautiful detail. Photos of all scarecrows will be uploaded to our photo gallery shortly.

Synopsis: Would you go back in time to save a man’s life even if it meant losing what you had?
Jim, a divorced academic from England, is in Australia on a research trip. He visits his uncle Archie and his wife Nesta, who emigrated there in the 1950s. Their coyness about how they met piques Jim’s interest and he decides to investigate.
This is a story about three people’s journeys – to Australia, across Australia and into their pasts.
Travelling across the country, Jim learns more about his relatives, more about himself and falls in love… But when Jim, Archie and Nesta meet again in Sydney, stories from their pasts collide with news about Archie’s health; Jim must make a decision which will affect all of their lives.
We all bury aspects of our past lives… But if we want to find fulfilment, we need to confront them at some point.
