What a milestone! Rothley Community Library recently celebrated ten years since opening our doors on 15 October 2015 as a library run completely by volunteers.
To mark the occasion, we held a birthday tea party for the village, bringing together members, volunteers and supporters old and new to celebrate a decade of free books, Storytime sessions, clubs, groups, and — of course — nine Scarecrow Trails.
In that time, membership has grown every month, and our volunteer team has grown alongside it: around 30 people now staff the desk on a regular basis, with another 20 or so working behind the scenes on everything from displays to building maintenance.
None of this would have been possible without the incredible generosity of our volunteers, members and the wider village. Here's to the next ten years!
